NEW YORK, May 12, 2021 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — NEW YORK, May 12, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Fractal, (fractal.ai), a global leader in artificial intelligence and analytics, powering decisions in Fortune 500 companies, today announced its participation in CB Insights Tech Market: Digitizing P&C Insurance taking place on May 13-14th 2021. Fractal’s Chief Practice Officer for Insurance and Technology, Sankar Narayanan, will be speaking at “Tech Showcase: Computer Vision for Underwriting & Claims“. The event will bring together over 400 top executives and insiders for discussions and presentations on some of the most pressing needs and innovative solutions.

The talk will feature Fractal’s Image and Video Analytics (IVA) solution and demonstrate how it enables #betterdecisions for P&C Insurers. IVA is Fractal’s deep-learning based solution that is used by insurers to analyze images/videos/complex documents at scale, during underwriting and claims stages. During underwriting, it is used to assess value and estimate coverage with precision and during claims it is used to assess severity and estimate settlement amount, at speed. IVA has been ranked as one of the differentiated products in The Forrester Wave on Computer Vision Consultancies, 2020. More details on the solution can be found here.

IVA reduces inefficiencies and limitations that Insurers are facing today as it requires significantly lesser training data (one of the biggest problems associated with computer vision solutions), has anywhere deployment to allow “Ambient Intelligence”/ “Embedded AI” so that the algorithms can scale cross embedded systems (devices/IoT systems) / cloud and hybrid architecture and incorporates two patents (a) patent for hierarchical classifiers of DL architecture and (b) self-supervised learning for identifying patterns.

“Improved effectiveness and increased efficiency lead to Better Decisions”, said Sankar Narayanan, Chief Practice Officer – Insurance, Banking & Technology, Fractal. “Insurers are dealing with many impeding factors such as legacy technology, data inconsistencies, and process friction in addition to the external pressures caused by the prevailing interest rate environment and nimbler competitors. Computer Vision techniques offer great promise in leveraging alternative data sources to reduce underwriting and claims cycle time, and digitize parts of the process, leading to lower expense ratios and better customer experience. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss these challenges and solutions alongside so many great minds at this year’s CB Insights Tech Market”.

Message from Fractal Group CEO & Co-founder on COVID-19

A time for compassion, empathy, and resilience: We are in this together

India is experiencing an unprecedented COVID surge (more than 2.2 million new cases and 16,000 deaths last week). India’s hospitals are at capacity and are highly stressed.

There is a great sense of unease, anxiety, and fear everywhere. We hope that you, your loved ones, and your colleagues are safe.

Our team in India, working from home across more than 160 cities, is battling this sudden surge. Many Fractalites are experiencing symptoms, or are caregivers to loved ones, or are dealing with mental health situations brought about by the pandemic.

Fractal’s Critical Events Team (FACET) is working 24×7 to ensure that we are doing everything to support our people. We have been taking a series of measures to ensure the health and well-being of all Fractalites. Since March 2020, FACET has monitored and supported Fractalites by:

  • Providing access to high-quality information (reducing infodemic stress), psycho-social support through proactive outreach, medical partnerships, and more.
  • Access to physical and mental health resources like access to high-quality coaches and therapists.

On April 20, 2021, we have also initiated a corporate vaccination program in India. Fractal partnered with Apollo Hospitals Group for pan India vaccination. Kavach 2.0 program offers pre-vaccination support, inoculation, and post-vaccination support to all Fractalites and their loved ones who meet the vaccination criteria. The program is at no cost to Fractalites.

We continue to work from home and continuously assess the impact of the COVID – 19 surge on our people and clients. We have activated our Business Continuity Plan to manage disruption wherever applicable.

Our heartfelt gratitude to all the healthcare and frontline teams, working tirelessly in the pandemic. Fractal CSR continues to support the community, especially frontline healthcare workers and economically disadvantaged lady scholars. Fractal has also contributed its Analytics and AI expertise to assist the Government of India with critical decision-making in managing disease spread, managing healthcare outcomes, restarting the economy, and citizen engagement.

Words feel inadequate to describe the immense pride and appreciation I have for Fractalites, clients, and partners as we demonstrate support for one another.

We will all get through this crisis together.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone at Fractal and their loved ones.
